New Agreement Marks UGCs First Official Partnership with a Professional Sports Franchise and Las Vegas Lights FC Entree into the Esports Arena

Edwardsville, IL (June 23, 2021)Ultimate Gaming Championship (UGC) and professional sports soccer franchise Las Vegas Lights FC today announced the formation of a partnership agreement that cross-promotes the UGC and Las Vegas Lights FC brands across both organizations owned media platforms. In a first for both companies, this new agreement designates UGC as the exclusive esports partner of the Las Vegas Lights FC and the team’s entree into esports.

Under the terms of their partnership, UGC Technologys proprietary online tournament platform will power Las Vegas Lights FC’s remote, amateur esports competitions; providing the team with new, esports-oriented ways to connect with, and expand, its soccer-loving community and team fandom. Additionally, UGC will provide subject matter expertise through both consultation services and by leading tournament operations. In turn, Las Vegas Lights FC has agreed to co-brand all event marketing and spotlight UGC as a partner throughout its owned channels.

“Lights FC is excited to partner with Ultimate Gaming Championship as we expand our club into e-gaming,” said Lights FC Owner & C.E.O. Brett Lashbrook.  “We proudly represent the world’s most popular sport in the world’s most entertaining city and can’t wait to launch our first online tournament for fans locally and abroad to equally enjoy.”

We are so proud of this partnership with The Las Vegas Lights FC because their vision for community building aligns so closely with UGCs,” said Matt Jackson, Founder and  CEO of UGC. “Together we will empower Lights FC fans to engage with the franchise both on and off the field. Our tournament technology offers a whole new way for soccer fans to enjoy the sport through the unique Lights FC experience.”

Built on the UGC platform, the upcoming Las Vegas Lights FC esports tournaments will be center on two soccer-themed games: (1) FIFA, a series of association football video games developed and released annually by Electronic Arts under the EA Sports label and (2) Rocket League, the high-powered hybrid of arcade-style soccer and vehicular mayhem published by Psyonix.

Both game tournaments will consist of the following:

  • Three weeks of qualifiers
  • Point-based ranking, which does not require participants to play in every qualifier to maximize participation

  • 32-team championship bracket
  • Top eight (8) rewarded with a prize package
  • Games: 1v1 FIFA (XBox/Playstation) and 3v3 Rocket League (cross platform)

FIFA will be played on Wednesdays, with qualifiers scheduled for July 14, 21 and 28 and championships slated for August 3 and 4. Rocket League will be played on Thursdays with qualifiers on  July 15, 22, 29 and championships on August 5 and 6.  Prizes range from team merchandise and memorabilia to game tickets.
